.. sew the night away ..

I don't know about you, but I often wish I knew how to sew. I fantasize about all the amazing things I would make for myself!! I'm determined to learn, but unfortunately that takes a bit of time.

Lucky for me, my dad is planning a trip to Vietnam, and he can have an amazing seamstress over there make dresses for me (since I can't do it myself yet) at a super great price. It'll look and feel like designer, but cost a fraction of the price.

As I mentioned on Twitter the other day, my mom and I took a trip to the fashion/garment district in LA and came back with these amazing fabrics and trims. I'm already regretting the fact that I didn't buy more silk chiffon, silk charmeuse, and sparkly embellished fabrics. There was this one shop that had all the silk you could imagine, piled from floor to ceiling, in the most magnificent colors and patterns. It was heaven in there...a cramped, claustrophobic heaven, but still blissful!! I was yearning for the most vibrant hot pink silk charmeuse, but alas, it was too expensive for that late in the day. There's so much I want to do/make with all of this.

I want to show you a couple of the patterned fabrics I brought home with me. These particular fabrics were crazy discounted. I love a good deal!

I'm planning to make dresses inspired by these stunning dresses from Erin Fetherston (first two, the Stephanie dress worn beautifully by Kelly from The Glamourai), and Odylyne (last two).

P.S. I also purchased a variety of gold and silver chains of varying size, as well as studs, so I'm totally planning to make shoe harnesses, jewelry, and embellish my clothes and shoes with the studs. Yes!!!
