.. movie review | "Avatar" 3D experience ..

I went to see "Avatar" in 3D this past weekend with my wife. Who cares what I thought of the movie. You can find a hundred reviews of the movie on other sites. I wanna talk about my personal experience cause its more interesting than what I have to say about the movie.

We sat a few rows from the front and right in the center. During the movie I could clearly make out what people behind me were saying or the sounds they were making. I soon realized that there was a guy with a serious alien fetish in the audience, probably sitting a row or two behind my row. I could hear his excited sounds or what I can categorize as moans during a Na'vi on Na'vi/Avatar love making scene. He also showed his excitement when the camera work revealed more of the female Na'vi character' s computer generated body during action scenes by saying "...yeah, show me..." His noisemaking was only drowned out when another patron who would chime in with her opinions on what the characters should do in certain situations. Equally annoying but less creepy.

My wife liked the movie. She wanted to be a Na'vi and not a human after watching. I was trying to hush her in case the fetish guy was listening.

  2. Your post reminded me of a story I heard on NPR about Gold Class Cinemas in Pasadena... http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=122220164

Maybe $29 for a movie is worth it after all... a 40 seat cinema should weed out some of those creepy people right?

Alien Fetish Guy not so fancy!
