.. fancy du jour | 04.13.2010 ..

I've hardly had any time to eat today. I know, what a travesty! I had a bit of a craving for something sweet and ended up eating some Honey Graham Oh's cereal with milk. Seriously, try that cereal if you haven't. It's delicious, nutty, and sweet. Yum!

Anyways, to further satisfy my sweet tooth, I think I'm going to be making some "Chocolate Dipped Frozen Banana Bites" this weekend. They're simple and so refreshingly cool, plus you can be proud of yourself for having some fruit in your diet.

These are so delicious and you can roll the chocolate covered bananas in anything you want...toffee bits, roasted almonds, dried fruit, more chocolate, graham crackers, etc.

That reminds me of another really simply banana dessert you can try! If you have some ripe bananas--
good way to get rid of some slightly over-ripe ones, too--slit them down the middle, long ways, without cutting through all the way. Note, this is with the skin still on. Then, slightly spread open each banana, so that you have a little pocket/pouch. Spoon in nutella, roasted almonds, and anything else you like in there. Then bake in the oven at 350-375 degrees fahrenheit for about 20 minutes or so. Dish out the bananas and serve with sorbet or ice cream. Amazing!! The banana is warm and gooey with all that deliciousness inside, and the ice cream is the perfect counterpart.

In case you weren't sure, our fancy du jour is bananas!!
