.. vintage and antique shopping ..

Okay, so I've drawn this out long enough. As I mentioned a couple times already, Esther and I drove to Old Town Orange and did some fun antique and vintage shopping. We didn't have a lot of time to shop, because we always seem to be eating or drinking something, so that definitely takes up a lot of our time. Plus, there's just so much that's good there, that we weren't able to visit all the shops and antique malls. However, we did visit two of the larger antique malls on this particular day, and I'd recommend it to anyone. It's just so fun and there's a lot of great stuff to find. Some of the items are pricier, but there's a lot of affordable (even super cheap) merchandise as well. We're talking clothes, jewelry, furniture, tchotkes, etc. It's overwhelming, because there's so much to take in, but if you're willing to dig around a bit, you're sure to walk away with at least one thing you love. I really enjoy this kind of shopping because it's like a treasure hunt, and we are talking about a seasoned expert shopper here!

We mostly just focused on clothes and jewelry this time around, but I definitely eyed some pieces of furniture that I wanted. Too bad I don't have any free space!! One day, hopefully.

In this post, I'll put up some pictures of the places we visited and the fun things we found. I apologize for the bad lighting in the images. We're working with flourescent lighting here, at times in the basement level of these buildings. I'd edit the pictures for you, but alas it's friday. You know how it goes!

I found this great jacket/beaded cardigan. I love it and you know I'm into the strong shoulder look. Purchased!! I later found another thin jacket, this time with black and gold sequence. I took that baby home as well. I'm dying to go out with it.

Pretty rhinestone teardrop earrings and what a bargain. Purchased!!

Esther made me pose at one of the stalls. I tried.

Esther and one of the mirrors.

Cute purse, but I have one similar to it already, so it didn't go home with me.

Okay, so I was all set on this olive green leather traveling bag, but Esther helped me exert some self-control. We wanted a shoulder strap for comfort.

Esther went home with that beautiful burgundy fan clutch, and I'm obsessed with animal motifs, so I took home the textured leather purse with jaguar handle. Win, for sure! Esther was contemplating the sequence clutch, but decided against it in the end.

This post is getting unwieldy, so more fun stuff after the jump!

I love, love this armchair. There's a pair of them in perfect condition. (Christian, this would be perfect for your place!)

For no reason, I decided to pose with a jockey hat and a scary, dirty baby doll with open/close eyelids.

Esther foud this great coat with fringe hem and ikat design. Well loved and purchased!!

Not purchased.

I was so getting this, but reason prevailed.

This jacket was amazing and I adore the fur collar and the cut of the sleeves. I took this item to checkout with me, but then decided not to buy it in the end. It was a bit pricey and I had spent way more than I intended. I think I might be coming back for it though. Why oh why, am I so weak??

Purchased this amazing silk blouse. I cannot wait to wear it with a high waisted pencil skirt or some wide leg trousers!

I hope I didn't bore you with all the pictures. Trust me, there's more I could have shown you, but I refrained. I'll post additional pictures on our flickr so you're always welcome to see more (probably not until later this weekend though). I did find some great pieces of jewelry for my mom, and so if anyone is thinking about Mother's Day shopping, this is a great option.
